Meet our teachers
Lita has been sewing all of her life. Her passion for sewing began with making clothes for her doll when she was little. Her favorite type of projects are embroidery, applique and fun projects like table toppers and wall hangings! She says her favorite notion to use is the Inspira Curved Scissors.
Lita teaches a tote bag class, as well as the Kimberbell bench pillow classes.
Kent has been sewing for 32 years. He is the head of our repair department, and can work on all brands of sewing and embroidery machines! His favorite type of projects are embroidery and digitizing, and his go-to embroidery staples are digitizing software and Mettler Web Bond.
Kent teaches Serger basics as well as Advanced Serger Techniques, and embroidery, long arm and software classes.
Ashley has been sewing for 5 ½ years! She works in our repair department, and specializes on PFAFF machines! Her favorite type of projects to make are baby quilts, and her go- to notion is the Heritage Scissors 5" Snip & Lanyard scissors.

Marty has been sewing all of her life! Embroidery projects are her favorite things to do, and when asked what her favorite sewing staple is, she initially said the Quick and Easy Mitered Binding tool but then said “But why think small. I want to change my answer to the Creative Sensation Pro and 6D Premier.”
Marty teaches 6D Software and Machine Embroidery.
Sally has been sewing for 41 years! When asked what her favorite projects to work on is, Sally responded with “ Quilts, embroidery, applique small projects… yes to all!” Her go-to notion is the Steady Betty!
Sally helps teach the classes for kids.
Marla has been sewing for 41 years! Her favorite projects to do are embroidery projects, and her go-to notions are HoopSisters anything!
Marla teachers the new-owners courses, Sewing Chicks, Creative Sensation Pro techniques, kids classes and Piping Hot Binding.
Meet Patty Russell,
Patty has been sewing for 67 years! Her favorite projects are finished ones, and her go-to notion is the Creative Grids Stripology ruler. She says it “saves time and is more accurate.” She loves to devolop her own patterns.
Patty teaches ABC’s of Quilting, Hand Piecing, Christmas Table Topper
BJ has been quilting for 29 years. Her favorite projects are anything double wedding. She also love doing projects that allow her to use fabric in a new and unusual way. Her go-to notion is a good rotary cutter. “How could you do a quilt without a good rotary cutter?” BJ said. When asked if she had a go-to pattern, she said “I like to figure things out in my head so I don’t usually find patterns. I am always looking for a better way to do things”
BJ teaches Double Wedding Ring, Piping Hot Binding, Machine Applique, Machine Quilting and Patriotic Placemats.
